Quarantine Cooking!

Cooking is an important activity between my grandma and I. When my trip to New York to visit her was canceled, we still wanted to cook together so I propped my computer cam, called her up, and we got to work.

We made one of my favorite Egyptian dishes, Macarona wa Bashamel. Here's the Recipe!

  1. First cook about 1 cup and a half of pasta, or enough to cover your dish. Make sure there is a bit of extra water after fully cooked.

  2. Next make a bashamel sauce with your choice of 2 shredded cheeses(I used about 1/2 of each bag), about 1/2 cup of milk and seasoings of your choice. Once a creamy but thick consistancy move aside with pasta.

  3. Next get about 1 pound of ground beef and half an onion, diced, into an oiled pan and cook, about 15 minutes.

  4. Then start by covering bottom of dish with pasta, then add about 2/3 of bashamel sauce over. Next layer will be your beef, add on top remaining bashamel.

  5. Cover top with the rest of the cheese from before and pop into a preheated oven of 375 degrees for 25-35 mins or until cheese turns golden brown.

  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
