Hi guys! I know we are all stuck in quarentine and I have taken this time to read up on some cooking blogs. Today being passover, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to learn about a new culture, and their traditions. One article caught my eye about 84 year old Claudia Roden, who has been self-isolating at her home. As I read I learned that she was actually born in raised in a Jewish household in Cairo. She talked to the journalist about how living in Cairo influenced some holiday foods they ate during passover. I decided to make a Passover Chocolate Cake she had given the recipe for. It interested me because of the fact Marrano Jews were involved on the early export of cocoa from Venezuela and founded the first chocolate factories on Amsterdam and France.
Here I used the recipe to make a delicious two-tier birthday cake for my mom. Hope you guys enjoy and remember to keep whipping! :)
