Christmas In a Mexican House

Recently I had a chance to talk to one of my closest friends about our holidays and what we missed about them, and of course we began talking about food because who doesn't miss that! She was talking about the Tamales her grandma would make on Christmas Eve before their huge celebration with family. For her and many other Hispanic households Tamales are presented on the table for their families on all the big holidays.

She explained to me that Tamales are made of a corn dough, or masa, and filled with any choice of meat with spices, seasonings and any sauce that works. They are then wrapped in corn husks and steamed till cooked. Luckily for me I got an invite next time her grandma comes over! See ya next time and remember to keep whipping.
